<image:title>Home - They really made a difference…..</image:title>
<image:caption>“We cannot express our gratitude enough for the care and support offered to my mother and ourselves during the last weeks. They have all been fantastic. My mother was cared for with dignity and respect throughout. The verbal support (and occasional hug!) for us helped us tremendously to allow my mother to die at home as she wished. Those weeks were incredibly important to all three of us. Many thanks” - Mrs C and Mrs M.</image:caption>

<image:caption>"As a badly disabled person, due to MS and being of a large build, help is needed for all necessities on a daily basis. Specialist Care is the third agency I have used and is by far the best. As well as being a professionally run company, staff are punctual, respectful of me and my home, trustworthy and efficient. I have also found both management and carers to be of a caring and friendly nature."</image:caption>

      <image:title>Our Team - Michaela Green</image:title>
<image:caption>Role: Registered Manager & Nominated Individual Experience: 32 years Growing up in a household where my parents ran a residential home, I was fortunate to be continuously surrounded by the world of care. This environment instilled in me an understanding of the responsibilities, commitment, and passion that are essential in the healthcare industry. From a young age, I observed the profound impact that compassionate care can have on individuals and their families, which fuelled my desire to be part of this noble profession. While pursuing my degree in accountancy, I recognized the importance of practical experience and decided to start working as a carer. This opportunity allowed me to immerse myself in the daily operations of our family business, where I gradually worked my way up through the ranks. Each role I undertook deepened my appreciation for the dedication required to provide high-quality care and reinforced my commitment to making a difference in the lives of those we serve. Throughout my journey, I made it a priority to enhance my qualifications, earning NVQ Levels in Health and Social Care. Along with my RMA. These achievements equipped me with the knowledge and skills necessary to take on greater responsibilities. In 1998, I proudly stepped into the role of manager, a position I have held ever since. Leading this organization has been both a privilege and a fulfilling challenge, and I am dedicated to fostering a culture of excellence and compassion within our team. One of my greatest passions is empowering our staff to progress in their training and, consequently, in their careers. I take pride in providing support and encouragement that allows them to reach their full potential. Witnessing their growth and development is incredibly rewarding and reinforces my belief in the importance of continuous learning in the care sector. Outside of my professional life, I am an avid horse enthusiast. Additionally, I cherish spending quality time with my family, enjoying the simple pleasures of life together. Balancing my passion for care with my love for horses and family brings me great happiness and fulfilment.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Role: Compliance & GDPR Manager I joined SCS in 2005 as a care worker. It was hugely rewarding to support people in maintaining their independence as much as possible, giving individuals in the community the time and patience to express themselves in their own way and at their own pace. I often say that I’m “part of the furniture” now, and over the years, I’ve gained a wide range of skills and lifelong experiences that have helped me grow continuously in my career. As a Compliance & GDPR Manager, I’m responsible for ensuring that SCS complies with external regulatory requirements as well as internal policies and procedures. My aim is to ensure SCS has robust measures in place to effectively manage potential risks. I completed the CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, which I found both inspiring and empowering. To further my interest, I began studying for a BSc (Hons) in Psychology in 2023. This has allowed me to develop skills in areas such as research, data analysis, and critical thinking. In my spare time, I enjoy exploring nature with my family.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Role: Senior Quality Monitoring Officer / Moving & Handling Assessor Experience: 14 years I have dedicated the last 14 years of my life to the healthcare sector. My journey began as a care assistant with Specialist Care Services, where I put in hard work and was rewarded with a promotion to field care supervisor. During this time, I completed my NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care, which ignited my passion for continuous learning and growth within the field of care. After my time at Specialist Care Services, I transitioned to an SEN school as a teaching assistant. I thoroughly enjoyed working with children, but I realized that my true specialty lies in adult care. This realization led me to the Royal Brompton, where I worked as a Health Care Assistant (HCA). Here, I advanced through Bands 1-4 and became qualified in phlebotomy and cannulation. My career then took an exciting turn when I joined ECG Training as a clinical trainer. In this role, I delivered courses on Basic Life Support (BLS) for both adults and paediatric patients, as well as training on Anaphylaxis awareness and moving and handling techniques. I hold both Train the Trainer and Instructor qualifications, which have allowed me to share my knowledge and skills with others. Ultimately, I returned to my passion for domiciliary care, taking on the role of manager for a small domiciliary company. My journey continued as I became the training and recruitment manager for another domiciliary company. However, my heart has always been with Specialist Care Services, which is why I am thrilled to have returned. Recently I have just completed my Level 5 diploma in Health and Social Care, furthering my commitment to excellence in this rewarding field.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I have been working in healthcare with Specialist Care Services for 15 years. I believe in making a difference in people's lives and at SCS we always strive in doing what is best for our clients. My enthusiasm and passion for my job encouraged me to obtain NVQ LVLs 2,3 & 4, an A1 Assessor Qualification and a Leadership and Management in health care services (Level 5). These qualifications combined with my experience enabled me to be promoted to my current position of deputy manager. SCS provided me with the opportunity to connect one to one with our clients and to make a difference to people’s lives. In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym, playing cricket and spending time with family.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I have been working for Specialist Care Services for just over a year and it has been a great job experience for me. What I love the most about my job is the fact that I can assist the service users with their daily tasks. This helps maintain their autonomy when they can do things for themselves but supporting them in any way is what gives me a sense of personal fulfilment. I finished college and hope to pursue Law at university. I spend my free time with my family, listening to music and reading.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I have been part of the team now for 8 years, I started out as part of the outreach team and enjoyed supporting our clients be part of the wider community. I offered my services one day to help the office team and I grew my skills surrounding the planning of care and admin tasks needed to support both our clients and fellow staff members. In my spare time I enjoy reading and travelling. Anyone who knows me will tell you I love to organise, and I love a checklist so my job provides me with the ability to use my organisational skills and meet deadlines to assist in the smooth running of the team. When I am not working, I love to spend time with my husband and our fur babies, especially our dog who loves walking adventures.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I have been working in health and social care for 9 years now. After the birth of my first child I decided I needed a change. I wanted to interact with people and be given a challenge, this started my introduction to care. The prospect of helping people stay in their homes excited me and I found a job that I could deliver with passion. I love my job as no two days are the same, one day I can be out doing care visits, other days I can be office based updating vital paperwork, the job is a constant learning curve. My job has helped me gain a great deal of knowledge and experience in domiciliary care, I even achieved an NVQ in health and social care. In the future I hope to develop myself further in becoming an occupational therapist. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my son, going to see family and friends and DIY projects.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I began my career in Health and Social Care 33 years ago as part of an Elderly Care Team within Social Services. After qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in 1998, I worked in a Hospital Rapid Response Team and in A&E to promote early discharges from hospital. I have been part of Special Care Services for the past eight years and my main role is to assess moving and handling risks and to identify the need for equipment and adaptations to give the most optimum level of safety for carers and services users. In my spare time I enjoy water colour painting, all types of sewing, embroidery, and gardening.</image:caption>

In 2017 I became a senior carer and I also started assisting the office team. I have completed my NVQ LVL 2/3. I am committed to providing a high standard of care. I do not shy away from a challenge and I am always ready to deliver at work. When I am not at work I love to listen to music and spend time with my family.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Growing up with parents who ran a residential home I was continuously surrounded by care and the responsibilities, commitment, and passion that the industry required. Therefore, whilst obtaining my degree in accountancy I began working as a carer and worked my way up within the family business. I then gained NVQ LVLs 2,3 and 4 in Health and Social Care and became the manager of SCS in 1998 and have been since. I am a horse enthusiast and love spending time with my family.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I have worked at Specialist Care Services for nearly 15 years. I started working in the community part-time when my daughter started school. The time that I spent with our clients and seeing the impact of how our care bettered their lives encouraged me to achieve several qualifications with the support of SCS, which include my NVQ LVL 2/3. SCS has provided me with opportunities to develop myself while delivering quality care and as a result I now hold the position of HR Manager and staff trainer. In my spare time I enjoy reading and travelling.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I have been in the care sector for the last 15 years mainly as a home carer which I loved but when my own health got worse, I had to stop. I’ve been with SCS as part of the admin team for nearly 4 years so I’m still able to help people, just over the phone and not in their houses now, it’s the next best thing! In my spare time I enjoy going to a woman's only gym, to keep my own mobility and independence. I’m an avid cinema goer and love meals out with friends and family.</image:caption>
